Our recommendation for determining the height of the handle for walking support: stand next to the dog in the position you will assume, let your arm hang. Measure the difference between your hand and the dog's back.
Our recommendation for Harness fit on the dog: The Harness MUST FIT SNUGLY to give you adequate support. If the chest measurements conflict with the weight measurements, use the chest measurements rather than the weight. If chest measurement is borderline, choose smaller rather than larger size unless you expect your dog to grow.
This is NOT a Harness for the blind. The handle is fixed in an upright position. It does not swivel or slant backwards. Please see our Guide Dog Harnesses for that purpose.

For proper handle measurement, the dog should be in the working position. Measure from the Harness attachment point (a little above the elbow on the dog's side) to the handler's palm. The handler's arm should be comfortably held at a downward angle toward the dog.

Water is very attractive to children. They are often overconfident when jumping in after a float or favorite toy. Pool edges are also rounded and slick, which makes them dangerous to non-swimmers who get too close. Drowning is a silent problem. There is usually no splashing or yelling, and many small children have drowned silently while their supervisors were only feet away but not actively watching them.
Pets sometimes venture too close to the edge and slip unintentionally into the water or chase items over the edge. Even the strongest swimming dogs cannot grip the rounded edges or find the steps. Blind or unsteady pets are always at risk around deep water. Even cats sometimes unintentionally slip over the edge.

The pad contains an attractant that is specific to dogs. No other pets will be attracted to it.
Housebreaking Hints:Place the pad with the plastic side down. Keep the pad away from the puppy’s bed and food. Place the puppy on the pad so it will recognize the scent. Be sure to keep the pad on the floor continuously so the puppy will know where to go. If the puppy relieves itself elsewhere, bring it back to the pad right away. Gradually move the pad closer to the door and eventually outside.
