When the collar senses the signal, it gives him a warning tone followed by a mild correction that increases as he gets closer and closer to the transmitter. It is very easy for him to learn to stay away from the area where the "rock" lives.
Completely wireless, it protects a circular area up to 16 ft in diameter. Add up to 150 ft of wire, and create a custom shaped barrier. (wire sold separately below)
Recommended for dogs older than 6 months that weigh over 5 lbs.
Your dog wears a tiny receiver on his collar which picks up the signal from the hidden wire as the dog approaches it. It will first give your dog a warning beep and then will administer a static shock (harmless but unpleasant) if the dog continues toward the wire. He soon learns to stay within his boundaries and rarely gets a correction again.
The Receiver Collar included in the system is designed for dogs 5 pounds and up, with neck sizes as small as 6 inches.
The waterproof Receiver Collar offers five levels of static correction. Each collar can have its own correction level set, so that different dogs using different collars get the type and quality of correction needed - not too much and not too little. There's even a tone-only level for initial training or if you think all your dog needs is a warning tone.
It takes 2-3 hours to recharge the receiver collar, and LED lights indicate when recharge is needed.
The Stay + Play Wireless Fence Receiver Collar includes a rechargeable Li-ion battery. Instead of spending time and money buying replacement batteries, just plug the collar in and the quick charge will be ready in 2-3 hours. A full charge should last up to 3 weeks.
The system is also compatible with the original PetSafe Wireless Containment System. Mixing and matching is easy. Expand your current wireless coverage by purchasing the new transmitter and, add it to the original to make your dog's area larger. Or change to the new, lightweight, rechargeable Stay and Play Receiver Collar for your original system (you will need to purchase a receiver and a recharger for this option).
When you dog first approaches the wire he enters the warning zone and is warned by a beep from the collar. As he gets closer to the wire he enters the correction zone and is corrected by small electrical impulses. When he retreats back into the permitted area the impulses stop.
After a few days, your dog learns the boundary, and the electrical impulses can be reduced and the collar used to emit sound beeps only.
Use the fence to keep your dog in your yard or out of forbidden areas such as the flower garden or the pool.
It is adaptable to all types of terrain: open, wooded, hilly, fenced or unfenced.
Can be placed anywhere in your house: in plants, at the front door (to prevent escaping when the door is opened), on a window sill (to prevent barking and jumping at the window), on the sofa, behind the trash can - literally anywhere you wish to deter his presence. Use multiple zones to easily control his access to rooms or multiple areas that are off limits.
Each ZONE protects an area from 2' to 12' diameter.
If ZONES is near it, your pet will be far away from it.
The advanced technology system will give your pet a progressive warning tone "chirp" that alerts it to the boundary. He learns that he must stop when he hears the warning tone.
The light-weight, dog-friendly collar has a waterproof receiver. Is 3/4" wide and fits dogs up to 26" neck> (For larger dogs, you can adapt almost any collar)The system includes an easy-to-use, LCD push-button transmitter for quick installation and set-up. Did you know most pets ONLY receive a few static corrections before they are fully trained on the system? This harmless low-level correction is a sufficient reminder for your pet to remember his boundaries. The In-Ground fence is only effective if you train your pets properly. Our proven training method is easy to follow and takes only 10 minutes a day for two weeks.
You can put as many dogs as you like on one system as long as they are each wearing a receiver collar. Each kit includes one collar. Additional collars sold separately below.
The Petsafe Wireless Dog Fence is the first electronic containment system with instant installation. If you can plug in a cord, you can install an Instant Fence.
Wireless Dog Fence emits a constant radio signal to create a "safe zone" (the area in which you want your pet to stay.). When your pet LEAVES the designated area, he receives a mild correction until he returns - which means it's escape proof.
And, over the river and through the woods to Grandma's house is no problem either. Sincethe Petsafe Wireless Dog Fence is completely portable, you can take it - and your contained pet - wherever you go.
The area of coverage can be extended by half again with the purchase of an additional transmitter. Keep in mind that the additional transmitter requires an electrical outlet and must be kept out of the weather. This is usually accomplished by plugging one transmitter at each end of the house, or the additional transmitter could be housed in a large plastic container or wooden structure such as a mailbox.
Uses sleek, streamlined comfortable collar (30% smaller and lighter than other containment receivers) with new test circuitry that automatically alerts you to critical system problems, battery charge status and whether the collar is fitted properly - all information that you need to know to ensure optimal performance and that you need to know BEFORE a problem becomes a catastrophe.
ReadyTest™ audio signal system produces a brief audible click from the collar to assure you of perfect collar contact. New ergonomic collar shape assures better contact and won't turn on your dog's neck like older collar boxes do.
Training capabilities feature 150 yard range (on or off of your property), 7 levels of correction to suit your dog's temperament (from soft and timid to strong and bull-headed). Also tone-only training for use as warning before correction or reminder. Transmitter has ergonomic design for comfort in your hand and large, easy-to-feel buttons to make training a "no-brainer".

Self-testing technology that tells you all of the system information that you need to know to ensure optimal performance and that you need to know BEFORE a problem becomes a catastrophe.
The fence wire must make a continuous loop around your property for your system to operate. The signal is delivered from the terminal of the transmitter, through the fence wire, back to the other terminal on the transmitter. When this is accomplished, the wire continuity light will emit a constant red indicator.
The wire should be buried approximately 4-6 inches into the ground, or deep enough to protect it from being damaged by any machinery or dug up by your dog. (The wire does not have to be buried in order to work.)
