When annoying barking begins, the bark collar's sensitivity setting senses the vibration of the dog's vocal cords and administers a brief 1/2 second harmless but unpleasant correction. If barking continues for another 3 seconds, another correction is given and repeated at 3 second time-out intervals until the barking stops.

Most keep on beeping when the dog is standing still (on point) and have a different rythmn when he is moving. You should be able to choose your preferences. A good beeper should also have a "locator" tone that you can use to find the dog when the other tones are turned off. Wetlands Bird Dog Training These collars have more range than pet trainers but less than hound trainers and upland trainers. Cold hands and difficult terrain often lead to dropped transmitters, so a waterproof transmitter is very beneficial.
Upland Bird Dog Training need more range than waterfowl collars but less than hound trainers. Whether the transmitter needs to be waterproof or not is dictated by the terrain in which you train and hunt. Beepers are very useful for keeping track of pointers.
Hound Training Systems You will find them at the high end for both distance and dollars. Hounds run very far afield (needing a mile range or better). Hounds often hunt in packs and many hound trainers come with more than one collar to train or control more than one dog at a time. Often used to break dogs of chasing the wrong type of game, most hound collars have average features and larger transmitters. There may not be a need for hundreds of levels of correction, as the dog chasing the wrong game usually needs a fast, fairly severe correction NOW - not much finesse to it. (This can be a life-saver for the dog headed into dangerous terrain or chasing a dangerous animal and is considered a "hot" situation). Your dog is happiest when he knows he is pleasing you - you can see it in his tail. But without training, he may not understand what is 'good dog' behavior and what is 'bad dog' behavior. As far as he knows, he is just doing what comes naturally - - being a dog!
The Science of Remote Training
An electronic signal is transmitted from a remote handheld transmitter to a collar worn by the dog. The electronic signal is a mild tingling sensation which gets the dogs attention and distracts him from the undesirable behavior. The signal does not hurt or harm you dog, but it is unpleasant (like an electrostatic shock when you walk on the carpet in your socks). By responding to and obeying your obedience command or by stopping the undesired behavior, your dog learns to avoid the unpleasant sensation. Your dog can also be trained to respond positively to an audible or a vibration signal.
Training works best if you can correct the behavior while it is occurring. Keeping the training message clear helps your dog learn. One of the benefits of using a remote trainer is that the behavior correction can be more precisely applied in association with the behavior.
Consistency is key. Make your training message precise and keep it consistent, and your dog will understand what you expect. He’ll be happier - - and so will you.
Sometimes training is more effective when your dog associates the behavioral correction with the behavior rather than with the person correcting him. If his behavior is corrected anonymously (he doesn'tknow you did it), he will think his action caused the correction and will learn to avoid the behavior even when you aren’t there to supervise him. An anonymous correction is not possible with other training approaches.

Vibration is a great feature with many different applications. Many of our competitors use a tone feature that makes the collar unit emit a quiet beep. Vibration is a more effective alternative because your dog is the only dog that will feel the vibration (other dogs can hear your dog's tone and your dog may hear another dog's tone command, which may cause confusion). Like humans, most dogs will lose their hearing as they get older, so it will become increasingly difficult for them to hear the audible tone. However they will always be able to feel the Vibration. Also, your dog will be able to feel the vibration when the collar unit is submersed under water. (The tone from other collars may not be heard if the collar is under water.) Depending on how you condition your dog, Vibration can be a warning, a command, a way to get your dog's attention, a substitute for stimulation (especially for sensitive dogs), or even a reward.
The Jump Stimulation* (1830 model) is a great feature for training methods that involve "jumping" frequently between two different stimulation levels. As before, you can set a level of intensity for the Nick or Continuous Stimulation buttons that is appropriate for training your dog. The Jump Stimulation button allows you to set a second, self-programmed stimulation level higher or lower than your normal intensity level setting. Applying a correction at the right intensity level quickly and timely is paramount in dog training with e-collars. With the Jump Stimulation feature, you won't have to have to fumble around with the stimulation setting at the time that the correction is needed, so the chances of applying a stimulation too late or at the wrong intensity level are virtually eliminated. The Jump Stimulation is also useful in emergency or dangerous situations when your dog is excited and not responding to the normal stimulation level. If you do not have time to increase the intensity level in these situations, the Jump Stimulation is a fast and convenient way to get your dog's attention before the situation gets out of hand - a "hot" button.

All H2O 1800 series models have an 1800 yard (1 mile) range and come with completely waterproof and rechargeable (Ni-MH batteries) transmitter and collar units. Nick and Continuous Stimulations come standard on every model in the H2O 1800 series line-up.

The H2O 1850 comes with a Beeper/Locator, which is controlled from the handheld transmitter and is audible from up to 450 yards away. There are 3 functions: Locate, Run & Point mode, and Point Only mode. The Locate button will make the collar unit beep any time it is pressed to help you locate your dog. The Run & Point mode will make the collar beep one way while your dog is on the move and another way when he stops to point. The Point Only mode will make the collar beep only when your dog has stopped to point.

This allows user owner to have a larger collar with beeper for his larger dog such as a lab Lab and have a smaller and better fitting Micro iDT collar (no beeper) for his smaller necked Brittany, Pointer or Beagle (or simply a younger and smaller dog). In addition when the receivers are mixed, the 2nd collar will pick up the features of whichever H2O transmitter it is programmed to (with the exception of the beeper which is only available on the 1850 receivers).
This transmitter can switch from rehostat/volume correcton levels to familiar selector/step intensity dial if you like that mechanism better.

TriTronics SPORT Combo G3 dog collars are an upgrade over the Sport Basic dog collars. These units have 20 stimulation levels plus a tone-only option and can work up to 3 dogs. They are the first TriTronics collars to incorporate more than 18 levels of stimulation.
Since training should always be accomplished at the lowest effective level, the more levels you have, the more finesse you can employ. No need to jump to a level that is too high just because there is no level between non-effective and getting a response. Helps eliminate over-correcting.
