A neck-reining miracle! Finally a way to train your horse to neck rein in just a couple of easy lessons. This amazing hackamore communicates your intent clearly and concisely so that the horse knows instantly what you want him to do. You'll be amazed by the results.

category: Hackamore Bridle

Gch Neck Reining Hackamore
This is primarily a one-handed or neck reining hackamore. The direct pressure quickly teaches neck reining, controlled backup, and quick stop to any horse who has been taught to yield to pressure. The ratio of pressure to effect (1:1) protects against over-correction.

While certainly an excellent piece of equipment for all-round riding, it is the perfect way to start young horses that are shedding their baby teeth or to use for horses with mouth problems. Because it encourages bending at the poll as well as direction change, it keeps a horse from dumping too much weight on his forehand and teaches him to balance better.

The Gentle Control Hackamore is designed so that the fulcrum point (or leverage point) is in the middle of the aluminum plate. The Fulcrum is half way between the rein attachment points and the lower jaw contact point. Therefore, your horse will feel exactly the same pressure that you apply to the reins. 1:1 direct pressure.

The throat latch goes through the keeper on the hackamore. Reins go through the double holes on the other end. This configuration gives you three points of suspension: Direct pull on both reins puts pressure squarely on the underside of the jaw for superior stopping control. When the reins are laid to one side or the other (as the neck rein pressure is applied) the aluminum plate twists and applies pressure to the side of the jaw opposite the requested turn. Horses move AWAY from pressure and right INTO the direction change.

Easy back up and collection is encouraged because when you gently pull back on the reins, the noseband tightens over the bridge of the nose. The nose band is lower on the horses head than where the aluminum plate contacts the underside of the jaw. This hackamore action encourages the horse to break at the pole and round up the shoulders, preventing hollowing out of the horse's back.

Softness and relaxation is encouraged because of the hackamore's light weight and because of the instant complete release the horse feels when you release pressure from the reins.

Head tossing is discouraged because, when properly adjusted, it feels like a halter to the horse when no rein pressure is applied.

Excessive pulling is discouraged because of the sensitive pressure points that are used by the GCH Hackamore.

You'll be amazed. It will nullify all the negative effects of a bit.
    GCH Hackamore Encourages:
  • Teaches neck reining
  • Encourages collection
  • Encourages softness and relaxation
  • Teaches easy backup
  • Most horses pick up neck reining during the first ride, usually in a matter of minutes. It's mechanism is so simple you'll wonder why it wasn't invented 100 years ago.
    GCH Hackamore Discourages:
  • Head tossing
  • Excessive Pulling
  • Hollowing Out in the Back

Customer Testimonial: I bought the GCH hackamore for an abused horse that could not take a bit and had NO idea about how to neck rein. She picked it up in 15 minutes! She never wears anything but this hackamore, and we do miles of trail riding. I recommend it for any horse.

Customer Testimonial: My mare has wolf teeth that give her fits with a bit. I was riding in a knotted halter, but it didn't really give me any finesse with her signals. She hasn't worn anything but the GCH hackamore for more than a year, and we are stopping on a dime, turning with feather-light precision, and she will back across an arena like a champ. Thanks!

Customer Testimonial: We train and sell many horses each year. We start all of our young horses with the GCH Hackamore. Truthfully, the only reason we use a bit on most of them is because the prospective buyers expect to use a bit later. Our ranch horses all wear the GCH hackamore for nearly every activity.
